A couple questions.

1. Is it possible to replace the fuel economy guage in an SLX with the tacho from another VH? If so, how? Is it just a straight swap?

2. I got a speedo from the wreckers with a tripmeter/odometer that works (hopefully), but it has 270,000 on the clock and mine is at 160,000. It has been on/off for a while but it's no more than 260k at most, can I turn the clock back on the new one? Again, if so, how?

Cheers fellas.

You can use a tacho out of a VB-VH. But first is your VH a 6 cylinder or V8?. There is a difference between them.
There is away to turn back the speedo, but its way to fiddely. I would just but the new one in and leave it.

i've put the odometer back before, it only takes a few seconds if the speedo is already out of the cluster, its just a matter of flicking the 100,000km dial back one notch...

I've got a tacho from a VH, but I didn't get the whole cluster (ie. the whole unit it's attached too.), just the tacho itself. And it's a 6 cylinder.

I have just put the speedo in, without worrying about the odo. I might try changing that when i do the tacho.

"atrail308" is on the money with this one.

i got caught out years ago with my old gemadore, i didnt know any better, and the pricks at the wraekers were just after a sale.

you could always go the ricer option, $1200 autometer with memorym shift light, in 5 pretty colours, out on the cowl !

We all know that your smarter than that though !

Good Luck !
