Hi All,
As we all know its very hard to find an SL/E with front speakers that aren't blown. They all need to be replaced espcially because we all like to upgrade our sound system.

My question is - How in the hell do you get those plastic dash speaker covers off in order to replace the speakers. I have tried a flat head screw driver underneth but to no avail, just feels like I am going to snap the plastic.

Anyone with the trick of how to do this one would be appricated.

Thanks

It's very difficult to remove them without braeking them. They are held in with 3 clips that "bite" into the sides of the hole.

Have fun finding replacements. The only set that fit are a pair of $120 (1997 prices) kenwoods that even then need mods to suit it (grinding down the tubes & folding up the flange).
