I have removed the arm rest & window winder. Still appears attached to door opener and also locking mechanism. Can anyone advise or point to some info that explains how to do this?

taking the door trim of is pretty simple if nobody messed with it previously.
Wind glass down, take door opener/winder/armrest off and prise out clips around door card/trim, pull trim away from door and lift UP of the door body panel

Thanks Vin999. Nobody has messed with it as we have owned from new and have never needed to remove it. I have removed arm rest and window winder but I am not sure how to take off door opener and locking mechanism. Does the silver trim around these just prize off? Just nervous about breaking them

Put up a pick of what you are referring to.
I don't remember what the VH looked like.
Can't be much different to VL but easy enough just the same.

It is these two things (door opener and locking mechanism) that I am unsure on how to remove. Any advice would be appreciated. Had this car from new and it has been in my shed for over ten years. Kept it to try and do up in my retirement - I have now retired! No experience though. Hope pic helps

Success. Have got card off without causing any more damage. Now onto the next problem. See why window is on such a silly angle!

Good chance the plastic clips that hold the glass in the window frame have broken
