Hi guys, I have just joined up this site. I have got myself a base model VH SS and am bringing it back to life. I can find heaps on how the inside and outside of the car should look, but nothing of the underside. Does anyone know what colour the tailshaft should be? Looks like faded orange at moment. Cheers

Tailshaft's are black generally, if its an orange it means someone's painted it for some reason.

None of my older gen commodores had anything other then black and none of the HDTs i've seen have had anything other then black.

Looking at the parts book an orange tail shaft is for a 4.2 SS with a small diff, which sounds like your car.
