anyway, some years ago I asked Holden for info around my cars ID plate.
they came back telling me my VH is actually a VK...... Which has puzzled me so I thought I’d ask here. I also asked about A8A as I thought that would be listed but I could never find it on my car. Doesn’t exist they told me.

FYI.. my GMH production build codes states from my time there (yes while VH was running) says
A8A - Commodore Vacationer - Series 3 (VH)
They also say and don't explain this-
8 - Division: Holden
K - Degree of Luxury: Commodore "SL"
69 - Body Style: Sedan
R - Engine code
D - Model year: 1984
these are -
8 = Aust Govt manufacturer code (allocated to GMH)
K = V Carline LOWEST level standard inclusions (or luxury if you like)
69 = sedan body style (they are correct there)
R = 253 V8 engine code (T= 308 etc)
etc etc
