Hi Momby, please let us know the outcome, thanks
Welcome to Just Commodores, a site specifically designed for all people who share the same passion as yourself.
I don't think it's fuel. I believe it is harmonics of the car driving again after rolling. I was showing a friend one day on Citylink who also owns a redline and he says his doesn't do that but again my Director and his car have not many kilometers on them. My redline has but has been doing this for sometime. Thanks Anthony for your thoughts. That does seem to be the same or very similar issue.
I called into a performance workshop today specialising in among other things Commodores, after explaining my lengthy story including the fact my series 2 VE doesn't display this problem, BUT, that I'd be running both on E10 fuel, his diagnosis was the fuel, some kind of fuel or octane module/sensor that's in the VF, but not in the VE. So his thoughts, run tank basically dry and fill with 98, I'm going to give it a try and will only use 98 in the future.
Thanks again for touching base, Cheers.
Resonance/harminics/aerodymanics can be a bitch and bring down structures, as is shown belowI don't think it's fuel. I believe it is harmonics of the car driving again after rolling. Lets hope Holden enginers considered the driveline resonance frequency and other factors when implementing the fuel shutoff on coast feature and driveline backlash limits.
