yeah I deserved that. I was a liability on the road. For the record, though, I did cop a 12 month loss of licence the last time I did lose it. And boy, did they make it difficult getting my licence again...
At least you admit it, so many people that go through what you did, blame the police etc. Quite funny really .
I did it... And ive been on my P's for a long time... This is my 6th year, not proud of it... just got screwed. Had my full licence for about 4 weeks and then the system caught up! Get of my P's in october!
??? I think you might want to review the company you keep then. It really isn't that difficult. Reaper
Not to offend anybody, but why is it so hard to drive sensibly and not break the law??? I mean is not that hard, its all about common sense. There is no need to speed or do stupid stuff, go to a track and do it. Remember - A real car is not a toy. Its a deadly weapon. It will kill!
my mums 46 and hasnt had one speeding fine, nor any other troubles with the law at all! she's been driving since she was about 20 so yeah.. thats 26 years of no offences, 1 year is bugger all! i dont see the need to speed.... think about it.. 5 km over the limit is only an extra 5 km's PER HOUR.. if your only driving down the road, speeding aint gunna make much difference to your time of arrival lol.
Although off topic i love Mr Bracks response to some idiot news reporter asking about why they wanted revenue raising cameras on the hume(for those who don't know time lapsed cameras) his response was gold: "If you do not break the law then we can't raise revenue, so simply drive at the speed limit and you will be fine"
passed a cop at 130 in a 90 zone on p plates. only 4 points and no loss of liecence. a week later got done again. i love wa
What's the penalty for no P on the back? I haven't got it on right now coz I just got the windows tinted. Sorry to change the subject a bit.
****! didn't think it'd be that serious. guess it goes back on then, forget the tint. though it's been over a day so should be fine. Thanks.
in NSW its $175 and was two points a couple of years back. Edit: I think the points might have gotten up to 3, but not exactly sure
Only on points would you be suspended. The penalty is $130 and 3 demerit points. A lot of coppers don't give it out as the demerit points included is a rather harsh penalty for a seemingly minor offence. I however gave out two in one weekend about a month ago. One of those was car coming out of a well known area for cars doing burnouts and this guy had his two front rims on (nice mags with perfomance tyres) and stock rims with really crappy tyres on the back (his burnout rims). It was rather obvious what he'd been up to. My partner gave him a defect notice for the tyres - wouldn't really worry him much as all he would do is put his good rims and tyres back on when he got home. I gave him the ticket for 'P' plate not being displayed - the back one had fallen off because he'd had his windows open and the breeze had blown it down and the front one was sitting flat on the dash (not properly displayed).
What if they fell off whilst driving and still have the front one displayed, will you still get fine????
It's an offence, I'll say that much. Whether or not you cop the ticket is up to the police member speaking to you and your attitude would have a bit to do with it.
I got done for rear P plate falling away from the rear windscreen in August 2005. The front was clearly visible. (Pics attached) Took it to court, the fine was thrown out... but I only found out later that the points were still added to my license. As I was on my reds, the officers gave it to me to get me over the 4 point limit. I pulled out from a parking spot in a blind bend (as safely as I could IMO) but had no chance of seeing the Police car doing 60 at 2 am at night. In the picture my car is the white VT calais with the SS wheels, parked in the exact same spot as I was on the night. I pulled out and they had to brake hard, so they booked me for not giving way. I still feel cut about the whole incident, but they were the only coppers that were ever rude to me.
