VIN interpretation

:unsure:The VIN on my commodore is as follows;
6H8 VT K 69 HYL 518533.
Can any nice person tell me what "HYL" indicates?

6H8 - world manufacturer id : 6H8 = holden, VRY - MODEL CODE, 19 - BODY STYLE(SEDAN), U - ENGINE CODE (H=3800 V6) (U = 5000 V8) R - MODEL YEAR CODE (R 1994, S 1995) , L - ASSEMBLY PLANT CODE (L= ELIZABETH, S.A)
123456 - SEQUENTIAL PRODUCTION SERIAL NUMBER
not sure for vts but if someones got a vt manual itll b in there

Yeah the VIN codes can be found in your owners manual.

Thanks for the info; HYL seems to indicate that the car was built in 2001 in Adelaide? However, I'll look at the manual tonite. (didn't think of that!!)

StatOmaN, with the vin on your car, vr = model (vr) and y = statestman (k = executive, l = berlina, etc.)
