Can any one of the resident JC IT experts recommend a VPN please?

I was previously using PureVPN for years. Had no complaints and was very easy tpo setup & use.
I am now using ExpressVPN, even simpler to use.

Both of these are basic VPNs which I would recommend to the standard user.

I'm using Private Internet Access for my VPN.
Few bucks a month and the install and set up is pretty simple and if you need tech support they are very helpful and talk in simple talk for the regular user.

I use Mullvad, simple to use and can get started without handing over your personal information.
Personally, I would steer clear of Private Internet Access as they are based in the USA

I highly recommend reading through this site before choosing a vpn https://www.privacytools.io/
