Ok I know the deal search forums etc! But i havent been able to find what I'm looking for.
I'm building another vk from ground up and will be fitting lexani r12s 20x10 rear 20x9 front. Now I've already fitted one side to check clearances and for some reason the 20x9 225x35x20 just clears the strutt base and clears on the inside aswell. Seems everyone on here claims you need to modify strut but I'm not having an issue. What I want to ask is if anyone else has had the same success of a direct fit like I have and if so have you had any issues when on lock.

There is an engine in there but that shouldnt matter there a factory coilover strut so the bottom half cant move anymore then how it sits now can it?

Seems everyone on here claims you need to modify strut but I'm not having an issue.

Will largely depend on the width and offset of the wheel, most Commo owners of yesteryear didn't really realise this was a thing so they usually bought random 20's which wouldn't fit. If you're using actual coilovers which have a smaller spring seat that's a big help too.

More to do with panel and body fouling, lock to lock steering too.

Ok I get you now. Atm ride height is standard so i know clearance for outer guard is good until I begin lowering it. The inside is the one part I'm worried about. The coilovers arent aftermarket just the standard vk ones fitment for those is pretty close but just clear

You got your guards rolled? With fitment that aggressive you'll likely need to go to coilovers when you go lower so you can actually pick a firm enough spring rate that will stop the wheels making contact with the body.
