After 2 cables in the last year, I'm looking to go a hydraulic clutch set up.

Has anyone recent experience with converting from the pull type clutch cable to a push type hydraulic set up.

My issue with the melting of the adjuster at the bell housing due to the close proximity of the header/collector. Then the inner cable pulls through negating any travel when using the clutch.

I've tried covering the cable, it has the OE plastic cover on the bell housing/clutch fork.

VK mild 304 (VJ stamped from VL) T5, V8 pedal box.

Here inlays the problem with the exhaust (extractors) proximity to the clutch cable, went out and spoke with Jeff Dellows from "Dellows Conversions" he advised to use his HD style cable with an aluminium adjuster. So thats what I've done, also in the process of making up a small heat shield.

Put some exhaust wrap around the section near the clutch cable for extra insurance or something like these items over the cable.

VL pedal box & clutch master cylinder. The slave bracket is from the US, its made for a foxbody Mustang T5 hydraulic conversion. The problem is that the Mustang has its slave on the LHS. Modified the bracket to fit the RH opening of the commodore. The main problem with using the VL master cylinder, its bore size is only 16mm so I had a slave cylinder sleeved down to 16mm to achieve the travelled required (only downside is the weight of the pedal). A 19mm or 3/4“ m/cylinder would achieve a really good feel & plenty of “off the shelf” slave cylinder options. I was more concerned with the “factory” look when I embarked on this project. (The pedal weight is still lighter than the original cable setup.)
