Hey all new to the forums but thought i'd throw up some pics of my vk enjoy..
Very nice. What are your plans for it? Mod? Restore? Preserve as-is?
You may be able to put it on club plates
Keep it original please. I had a VK with black motor.
Hey mate nice old girl Totally up to you but I would try and leave her original.... I also had a VK Berlina back in the day with a black motor, bloody beautiful car! Good luck with it buddy and looking forward to seeing progress pics.
every VK had a black motor, not sure why everyone keeps specifying that?
Ok so it's a nothing VK with a body that has lasted very well. If it were mine I'd restomod with a starwars dash (always loved them ), LS conversion and retrim the interior with modern bolstered seats but pointers back to 1984
So i got this for $150 (can you believe it?) January this year and its been sitting under an old shack ever since with the occasional wash and a start up every few weeks. still trying to find the funds but was thinking LS turbo sleeper or a blue meanie replica with a LS. but it really is such a clean car I'm really contemplating what to do with it. I'm hoping to get it rego'd in the near future and just enjoy as is. One thing I'd like to give attention to would be a very small amount of rust under the front window rubber.
Also when i do wash the car I'm getting a puddle of water on the front passenger floor but everywhere else is dead dry. Anyone know what could be causing this??
also the puddle is shown in one of the photo's^
Maybe the water is coming in where the rust hole is?????????
Suggest fix that rust sooner than later, as it only gets worse with time not better.
If it was mine I would use it as it is..........You could join a club and put it on club rego, and use for that purpose.
Maybe the black EST or the black EFI with the red jetronic bolted on?
Repco asks me that question everytime too
"Black Motor?" even though I say 202 EST Carby when ordering anything?
so how do you add your pics?
get a photo image hosting account like photobucket. Up load to photobucket and copy the link into your posts here.
BTW, I picked a VK up mid last year, with 170k on the clock. The only thing I have changed are the wheels (VT Commodore). I need to replace the carpet, parcel shelf and spend some money on the suspension. Otherwise, I am keeping it original.
I get a lot of people look at it and ask questions, just at the service station or shopping centre car parks. You see less of these in good original condition than re done.
