VK Commo Lights

Hi,

I recently bought a dirt cheap VK commo in need of some TLC, I've managed to get most of the electrics working again, but the headlights wont go any brighter than the park lights. I've changed the fuses and the globes and still nothing!! I'm replacing the indicator stalk this weekend as all its mechanisms are broken, is this likely to effect the light brightness? Or, is there something I'm overlooking? I'm a rookie at all this, so it's probable I've made some simple error.

Any advice or help is appreciated

pull the switch outa the dash and check all the connections also, it was a common problem for the switches to overheat and burnout as all the current for the lights run throught the switch and not a switched relay. many people upgraded the lighting wiring by fitting fused relays to the circuit to protect the switch
