VK factory alarm system delete?

Hey guys,

Quick question, is it possible to remove the old Cobra immobilizer system without too many issues? I just dont trust the 33 year old system to work after being disconnected and unused for so long (engine bay stripped for painting so everything is out) and I don't want to rip it out if it screws me later.

Any help from those who've done this already appreciated.

Yes it is, just follow the wires back and remove. I removed mine and the wires were connected into the harness under the steering shroud.
