Whats the general opinion on removing the tags when repainting the engine bay - remove or leave them in?
I want to drill the rivets and take tags off to do a nicer job, but wonder for authenticity to mask over them and spray.
Are the original rivets anything special?
Cheers.

Measure the head of the original rivet, drill them out & re-rivet them back on later (I've seen some 'genuine" GMH rivets on eBay once for some ridiculous price) unless your interested in concours condition then use the std run of the mill alloy rivets with the correct head size... I soaked mine in brake fluid contained in a ziplock plastic bag for the 4 weeks it was in the paint shop, I just hosed them off in water & they look mint..
