Basically my car battery died and after i got someone who had jumper cables (after waiting for about 3 hours), i noticed a ticking noise coming from the engine.

I have a stock 202 Black motor in a VK commodore.

I noticed that the tickin will get faster as i rev the engine, by the time i got home (a 2 minute drive if that) the ticking has subsided and become a lot quieter.

Any Ideas on what it might be?

probably just a coincidence the ticking started after jump starting the engine
might be a sticky lifter ? Can you determine roughly where-abouts the ticking noise is coming from on the engine ? ie cylinder head, rocker cover, crankcase

it's definatly upper.

I got a mechanically wise friend to help me out and he said it's probably just bad oil.
