Just wanted to share what I did with my transducer in my Calais so I could get my speedo working again. It was toast inside with rubbery crap stuck everywhere that I assume was a clutch mechanism that failed.

I drilled a hole through the cable end shaft so I could pin the gear drive to it that used to be attached to the clutch. This made it permanently driven by the speedo cable. I put a bit of plastic grease in there too.

Then I just made a cover plate from 6mm mild steel with holes to attach to its original mounting.

Bit crude, but it cost me nothing and works perfect.
