hey i just baught a vl, used to be a turbo, had a new engine put in without a turbo
on the way home from buying it thought i might give it a bit but wont go over 2500rpm
if i use the shifter and put it in first it will go past 2500rpm but not when its in drive,
does this have a rev limiter or something in it, not sure what to do
this question might have been asked but im new to the VL's
thanks

VL Commo sometimes
Sounds like a few wires for the Auto trans computer weren't reconnected properly.

All VL stock ECU's have a rev limit, the 3EA/3TA are set at 6400rpm and the 3TA/3TM are 6600rpm if I recall correctly.
The Stock ECU also go in to a fail safe rev limit when specific sensors go out of range. The rev limit introduced is around 3300rpm

It might pay off to grab a workshop manual and check the Trans selector switch as it can causes shift problems in the later model transmissions.
Hope this helps
