Great classic should Brock the motor and keep the exterior stock.

2017 HSV30 Senator, 2002 Corolla..

Id just restore it to factory spec. Lots of modified VL's around. Good, matching number originals not so much.

Wow thanks so much for messaging me first of all. I found an old post that had many of the build sheet numbers and the body numbers , but what i want to know now is how do i find out if the engine is original to the body?
i do want to keep it as original as possible. i read a couple of articles that suggest the engines were either 4.9s with brock heads fitted or ss engines fitted
the build sheet is damaged but i can read LV2 on the sheet and tags so going of the post details it said maroon ss. But any how i need to ID engine first VJ570315 and VLKVK19-BT1 Any help greatly appreciated . i already donated to this great site will do so again
Thanks again

Thanks for reply , i plan on keeping original mainly due to budget. suprised to see aussies stuffing gens in nice models , not many decent spec VLs in NZ so don't see that many on the road

Rightio
VJ engine preifix is a 304 in a VL so most likely original motor. And the motor is painted black factory. 122 kW
