have recently bought a 5L VL sedan in New Zealand, that was imported from aussie within the last 10years, am wanting to find out the model from the chassis no. which is : AVL040769M .it also has a Mr spanner's automotive sticker with rego no. 467FPS ? Dated 2002'

The number you quote is the Vehicle serial number which doesn't tell you much about the car. The numbers you need are all on plates fixed to the firewall on a VL. Attached are the decodes for those plates which should give you the info you are after.
