Hey Peoples, I just purchased a 86 vl 6cyl auto $1200 . 186,000kms no rust etc. Knowingly it would cut out when you accerated, but would't stall. You just decelerate then apply your foot again, but not too hard as it will do the same thing. I have changed oils, coolant etc, done a diognostic check with no faults. Today I disconected the neg. lead and left the car for a few hours, took it for a drive with no problem. Later today the problem reoccered.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
New...... air, fuel, oil filters, throttle switch, oil, coolant..bled system,
Checked........for leaks, fluids, vaccum, etc
Your opinion would be cool........ cheers

could be something to do with fuel pumps or injectors. is the timing right? if it were a carby engine i would say its just fueling up or not getting enough. hench my reason for suggesting fuel pumps and injectors.

Checked the volts at the airflow meter, it read 7 volts.
Set it to 3.5, now not a problem.
Thanks for your help
