vl high octane chip installed now wont start

is it a NA ecu and what sort of tune you putting in it another NA tune or what

its a na ecu and im putting a bmp vl-na rb30e high octane chip in it

should be easy enough then you need to make sure you dont get it too hot.did you cut the pins off the old eprom and unsolder one at a time or slowly do the whole chip out mission did you put a socket in or you just soldering the chip straight in.

i might of got it to hot i tried cutting the pins off the first time second time i done the chip at once i had the socket but it fell apart just got the chip now

the socket fall apart from melting when you were installing it and removing it.these boards dont like to much heat you might of burnt a trace on the board.

you say its running but bad did you dummy up the pump wiring to get it too run

when I did it, I just cut all the pins off the chip, then unsoldered the pins one at a time. use a machine drilled socket, its only 2 bucks from jaycar. I had to hit both sides of the socket with the iron to get good contact with all the tracks. its pretty hard to get round the wrong way, the board has a white semicircle printed on it for you. you also need to be careful, I was reading that you can pop your hotwire air flow meter like a fuse if the chip isnt soldered in right.

it doesnt go now cause i dont have the ecu in it but when i have it in it coughs and farts all the time on a low idle and u can smeel the fumes real bad ill go to jaycar tomorrow to get the machine drilled socket

will tweaking the dizzy to 15 do anything to it at all.
