How do you tell the difference between a vl or vn v8?
Recently bought a vl, and not sure what engine is in it. Went to repco ordered an oil filter for the year and model and was given a z30. It is too large, and the one fitted is smaller. Which made me think is it a vn v8?
Was told it had vn Heads, and its a black block. Has harrop manifold with a carbie.
Any help would be great. Cheers

Both filters fit.

Harrop manifolds are for the later style VN heads.

Yes, you're right. The larger filter fit. Was sceptical, till I matched them up together.
