VP Commodore Ute
Hi all, im a Holden noob I want to go all out and RB my 1992 3.8 V6 Vp ute.
Does anyone know if the VL RB K frame will bolt strait into my VP?
I want to use an old VL as a donor car and pick parts/wiring off that, what other factors do i need to consider when attempting this engine swap?
Cheers

Only one thread required as per the forum rules!

As to your question, yes subframes are interchangeable between anything from VB to VS. A former member has already once done this conversion (RB into VN/VP) so if you do a bit of searching you might be able to find his my ride thread, fairly sure it was full of pics and lots of info.

There were plans for Holden to continue using the RB in VN and VP.

Yes, the original plan was for the RB platform to continue in the VN but then the exchange rate took a dump and made the RB to expensive so we got the 3800 V6 instead.

Check out VN_Luke threads on RB into VN, he has huge amounts of info there.

vl k frame

keep vp rack & intermediate would be simplest way....check if fluid lines clearance/position & thread on properly.

That way no need to change steering column or muck around with intermediate shafts (vl splined,vp slotted shape)
