I know VL rust is common around the windscreen and boot seals. Wondering if anyone had any pictures to share of their rust repairs on any vl or k's and how much it cost? My entire windscreen is chewed out and now have no boot seal after taking an angle grinder to it.

Very expensive to fix that sort of thing.......1000s.

Several options. If it's in very good mechanical order buy a VL with a good body, if you can find one, and transfer your mechanical things into it.

Part it out yourself and make something out of it, or just sell it for what you can get for it.

finding a good nick back panel is the tricky part, but rare spares sell them repro.

fitting it really isnt that hard, just need basic welding skills and use your brain. square everything up 16 times before seam welding.

I knew it must have been rather common when the parts are sold on rare spares haha. I have a fair bit of rust and its around the entire windscreen which I in no way could shape and the boot seal, which no longer exists. All of the rust that isnt visible, will be done at home, but im not overly concerned considering it was a $700 rig with running motor and gearbox. Didnt buy a VL in good nick cause i knew id have to strip it and re-do everything to my liking. Cheers for the pics and advice
