Hi Im looking for a tacho for a VL with a VJ 4.9l Holden V8 in it, a wreaker has one but it shows the red line @ 5500rpm is that right!!! Or are these for the RB engines?????

Only reason I ask is that the VK V8 all were 5000rpm red line?????

wow .... factory redline at 5500
who would have thought :p

frankly, given the low compression unleaded petrol engine that
it was, stifled by a cat and auto only ('cept SS) ...anything approaching 5000 was impressive

Thanks everyone! 5500rpm redline it is. I agree with Smitty maybe GMH was a little optimistic!

And the use of the term "little" being somewhat generous on your part.

My favourite cluster in a Holden apart from HT's thru to the HQ GTS. All those models had a nice set of gauges.

I think I've already commented somewhere about my dislike of the graph paper on those.

You most certainly have and it was myself that suggested how I liked it that brought up your dissaproval of it.

Then I have to ask do you like the replacement unit which was originally the HDT Group A version which then became part of the April 87 Calais interior upgrade package ?
