brakelines are in but i forgot to get more fluid so havn't been able to bleed them yet.
the tail shaft is out and spilt. the back half bolts up to the front half of my vsIII v8 tailshaft which came with the vsIII v8 getrag 5 speed box.
i think the overall length will be ok.

does anyone know why we must use the back half of a v8 tail shaft?

i got a how too in my thread as well when i upgraded mine... so much better braking power

did you need to swap the studs over at the same time? When I do up the wheel nuts, the studs are not long enough so that the end of the wheel nut passes the end of the stud.
I see this as a problem.

alright, the v8 kframe is in but the engine bay still needs a little bit more attention from the wire brush and sander before I can spray it.
I got the longer studs I need, part no NS3430.

last night I put the longer studs into the back hubs, I needed to do this after swapping from a drum brake setup to disks, The clubby wheels are thick enough to stop the wheel nuts going on far enough.
today I painted the engine bay, bolted up the getrag 5 speed I started dropping the 304 in and it started raining.

I had to bail out and try again later.
I had a problem getting the extractors around the steering rack and will likely try again with the exhaust off.

neither at the moment. its the vl power steering rack.
a vp power rack came with the engine but it had a square end and wont fit.
It looks like the extractors will wrap around the steering column and rack, but I don't think they will allow the engine to go past while attached.
I'll remove them and trial fit the engine. if they wont go around and into position then i'll go get a vn rack.

I got the engine bolted to the k-frame today, getting the getrag on properly is proving to be a challenge.
I removed the drivers side extractor to get it back far enough.

yeah the angle you need the gear box on is an absolute pig, its much easier in a vn for some reason.
i used a good gear box jack to get the angle.
you will also have fun with the pedal cluster that's worse!!! lol

pedals are already swapped. :)
I still have to connect the master cylinder to the pedal and run its line to the gear box.
