Get the hinges from a vr/vs and bolt them to the guard where one of the bolts are. I used ball joints from the tail gate of a gen 1 (vb - vl) wagon on my bonnet and my struts are from a the back of a gen 1 wagon also

How hard was the engine conversion because I may be converting my vl rb30 to the 304 v8 out of the vr-vs
fairly easy mate,if you have the complete car even easier lol.
read my complete thread, i have the full build and tips etc in it,good luck and make sure you post it up if you go ahead with it.

How hard were the bonnet lifters to put in?
Looks like you just bolted it to the bonnet hinge and used one of the bolt holes in the guard?
yep your spot on,type in vl bonnet struts in the ebay search box,and you will see the kit,set me back like $40. supercheap charge $40 for one bloddy strut.

diff update

ok well finally today i received the diff,6 weeks later!!
it does look like his done a good job, though he really sucks on delivery times(diffs 2 u, Keilor east Victoria)
one thing that pissed me off,i wanted 4.11 diff gears and it has 3.9.1, meh close enough, most people say there better any way.

this weekend ill chuck it in,and hopefully be more impressed then the 345s currently in it.

I see what you meant about going through the gears quickly with the 3.45's
did you source a v8 tacho dash? I hooked up the tacho from the 6cyl dash and i'd like to see if there is a divide by 1.33 circuit I can get to feed in 6 pulses per rpm rather than 8 so that the tacho reads right.

Love your rep bro. Looks awesome.

I was running 3.45. Changed it out for 3.08. Didn't like how it was reving high. It still has a tonne of get up and go.
