Vn 91 Calais 5.0 mystery car ????

Hi all

Chasing some info on a 91 vn 304

Looking at buying

It’s vin says it’s a 91 Calais 5.0

From SA ,Elizabeth

Has sv5000 front back bars and wing

Is 2 tone phoenix red/silver

seller says from factory

Badged SV enhanced

No hsv badge under bonnet

Has stock 5.0 engine covers atm but he has a engine cover with the SV logo on it were Holden symbol usually is that says came with it

Got SV everything

Cigarette lighter,oil cap,dash badge,floor mats,horn button

Not sure what the steering wheel is

Think it’s autotechnica 3 spoke leather

Were they an SV option?

Have been told it was enhanced by walkinshaw when new to 355 stroker,t700,9” diff,big throttle body etc etc

Also told that interior is a one off prototype trim never released to public and it is MINT

no logos on seats

Also told it had all this done by a GM boss in Victoria and was a mule/test car which ran against that only one white sv5000 manual that was badged as an executive but started life as a berlina?

It has hsv headers into single 3”

The body is rough

mainly the roof

It is riddled with rust

Such a shame

It’s a awesome looking vn I think

Needs a full new roof

pillars and all

There is no saving it

Has had a hit in rear passenger side cracking bumper and bending panel below taillight

Not running as apparently some one tried to steal it and stuffed ignition and not sure if it’s a security/alarm issue?

Guy says was a beast but hasn’t run for 2 years

Battery is flat and has no fuel

Haven’t even tried to start it yet tbh

All came about this arvo very fast

Bit of a risk and am unsure

It’s a funny one
Might all just be a good story lol
Nothing on hsv database under the vin

Looking into any info I can find on it

Gonna ring hsv and walkinshaw tomorrow

His asking peanuts for it considering what he has told me he thinks it is

Any info be much appreciated

Hey mate
Yeh bit sus
First he didn’t even have a key
His son had it
Then all of a sudden
His got the key
I’ve known of this car for at least 5 years and we’re its been parked
Hasn’t moved
Just rusted away
He lost his license for 5 years or so apparently
Nearly went to jail
I saw red flags from the start lol
But haven’t even heard it run
That’s the **** part
If it started and drove
I may consider offering him a ridiculous price
But the rust is bad
Wish I could measure the stroke and check for build sheet

If you got it surely you could find a good VN donor car for the body and make a nice project out of it assuming it is what he says it is.

Holden didnt start building 355 stroker motors till VR, and if this is a GM test mule why would they stick a 9" in it,

i'd say someone is pulling your leg on a majority of the info

Hey mate, run the VIN and see where it gets you.

Also take a battery and see if you can get it turning over by jumping the starter with it in park.

VIN check will let you know if its hot, the turnover will let you know if its broken.

Most of that sounds like bs especially seeing that it hasn't hsv build tags or history to back it up then throw all those red flags.

Probably just a neglected calais...give them lowball for parts wreck after double checking it's not dodgey although I'd walk away tbh
