How you checking clearance micing bearing cap torqued down and crank or plastic gauge? May want to check roundness , main studs usually require an align hone.

clamped up the ARP studs to 80lbs
The crank is polished to clean up standard
i checked with bore gauge, then calipers, which read 0.0029
using ACL race bearings standard
crank spins over with ease with movement, not sure how much torque this is

There is a little time to go before assembling, as need to mock up pistons , cam (which haven't got yet) to check clearances
Then will decide on align honing or not

purchased a set of Morel 5290 Hyd roller lifters as figured prices will be going on
most probably pull my head in and go Hyd roller and not solid roller
run 15 different cams in dyno5 software program and its interesting to see where the torque and HP numbers correlate with each other
now to focus and make decision of camshaft

anyone got any VN rear brake shoe springs, looks like I lost one in garage when didn't get the spring in correctly and came flying off.
Bugger if I can find it

Lifters:

picked up morel 5290 lifters yesterday
placed original hyd flat tappet cam in block and placed all 3 lifters in block to see whether there was that much difference between lifter with location of oil and top of lifter boses
from left to right
crane ultra pro mechanical roller lifters
Morel 5290 Hydraulic roller lifters
Original GM chilled iron Hydraulic flat tappet lifter

Looking at few cams
crane Hyd roller: 888231, 888241 and another custom ground by Clive Cams
assuming if grind locally would be able to check base circle, lift and measure against current hydraulic flat tappet to get the cam and lifter sitting where it need to be

**** those Moral lifters have a tiny oil feed hole, height wise it all looks kosher.

Might have more feed holes than others (2 instead of 1).
Or it is designed for a Holden so will restrict top end flow and direct more to the rotating assembly?

No I think that is just how they are made. I've heard it mentioned before but never personally seen it.

I’m going to measure the hyd flat tappet cam tomorrow
Base circle, lift etc and most probable have chat to Clive cams as he offering seem to make more torque and power through to 5500 rpm on paper
