spent a fair amount of time tonight trying to cut the rubber with Stanley knife, though I was going fairly good, untill we got to bottom part of windowI went to a wrecker to get a front window for my vh many years ago. He got me to look at it before he took it out It wasn't until he started to take it out I noticed a chip in the window. However I was lucky because he cracked the window getting it out. I don't know if he was hamfisted or they are a problem to get out in one piece.
the rubber was rusted on to the window channel, so it wasnt going to come out well
In the end broke the window
However wanted to take the glass out as the rubber in bottom of windscreen wasn't good. I remember I had to replace this when I purchased the car and it was transported up from Adelaide to Victoria, and the glass got sandblasted and need to replace, seems the install previously job must have been a little suspect and probably leaked
However new glass and rubber
took the surface oxide off the channel and started to get all the rubber urethane on channel
degrease and hit it with Fernet oxide convertor
Need to pop out the rear glass as well just to be sure there isn't any rust in channel
come this far whats a little more stuffing around
