VY Calais Series 2
Hello readerz

I've got a problem with my vn calais (just like every other car owner)

My mode button since i purchased the car last year never worked from the start........so yesterday, i decided to remove my dash completely and solve it myself.

Problem is....i still cant resolve the problem.

I even wanted to resolve another problem with my rev gauge.....it sometimes get stuck.......im lead to believe its because of dry solider, so i tried removing the whole cluster but it was hard to get out with all the wiring in the back. Will i wreck anything by removing it?

Also while placing back my cluster back on the dash, i realised that my right indicator light found inside the car dosent display anymore but from the outside, it does. Could i have accidently removed a wire or something?

Id appreciate some help

Thanks in advance to everybody

Hmm ... I have removed my vn level 2 gauge heaps of times, and it just pops out... Nothing really there to damage...

I am looking at the back of a spare level 2 that I have, and it doesn't seem like anything could be damaged easily ... As for the rev gauge, have you tried pulling it off the speedo, and checking to see if there is any dirt or anything making it stick....?

I have pulled my gauges apart when putting in my white face speedo, and also replaced the cogs in the speedo cause the k's never clicked over, and could not reset the counter to see how many k's I was getting to a tank of petrol ... But all the needles (rev, temp, speed) are so easy to get off and check...

I don't know how different the level 2 and 3 gauges are tho ...

AS 89vncommy said it's nothing to remove or replace the cluster as long as you don't force it. If you have the wiring for connector 4 on the bottom of the cluster you should be able to operate the mode switch from there.

You can check the trip meter out of the car.
For example on a Vr Vs pin 1 is ignition, pin 2 is battery, 5pin 5 is earth, this will display the LCD's and pin 16 is mode (switched with an earth)
