hi i brought a vn that i am slowly doing up at a daily so that i can take my other car off the road for a bit to fix it up

now the cruise doesnt work.... and i was just wondering what the common faults are so that i can see if i can get it going...

what would cause it to stop working in the first place.... as far as i know all the fuses are fine.... but will have another look

thanks for any advice in advance

Most common problem is incorrect adjustment on the brake switch. Drop the panel under the steering wheel, and you will see the two switches on the brake pedal. determine which is for the cruise and make sure it is adjusted properly

hey thanks for that...
i found the 2 switches and worked out which is which

now i have another question

how many wires are suppose to be going to the switch?

the brake has 4 going to it and the cruise has only 2

is this correct or is the cruise suppose to have 4 going to it also?

Sounds right, maybe the cruise passes through both switches? (hence 4 wires on the brake light switch). The brown wire is for the cruise. no just make sure the switch is making contact with the pedal when it is at rest.
