    Hi all,

I'm changing my discs next weekend. However, I don't have a bearing press, so i will need to take them somewhere to be done. I have the cones from the bearings (i bought new ones,) and I can't remember if both cones go into the hub/disc or whether they go on the axle. Can anyone help me out???

Also, just wondering if anyone knows a mechanic who could press them in for me around the Ferntree Gully area???

    Any help is much appreciated

Cant you just press them in with a hammer and punch?

I thought about, but apparently not. If they are out by a degree or two, major problems with shuddering.

Rather press them in and be safe.

Do these particular hubs have a seat that the bearing cup will seat on? I have done the hubs on my SS but they were VT adapter hubs, and I just bashed them in with a hammer. If they do have a seat, the bearing "sings" when its been hit fully home.

When you buy new rotors the bearing cups should be already pressed in the rotor. All you need to do is grease up the bearings and slot them in over the axle. Shouldnt take very long to sort out.

    ^^^ What he said.

When I bought my discs I was expecting to have to press new bearing cups in but was pleasantly surprised to find the cups already pressed in. Saved me some time and effort.
