Hi all. So my vn likes to not let me close my doors properly as in the need to be slammed to be closed fully. But when i take the door rubbers off they close perfect. Whats a way around this? Also my bonnet doesnt like to open but just releasing the bonnet latch. You need someone to press down on the bonnet before opening. How can i fix this?

Doors....Adjust the striker plates and use a little oil on the mechanism (should be dry lube if you have some) cause oil gets on your cloathes.
Bonnet....Remove the pin and/or clean (if it is dirty) maybe with a wire brush, otherwise oil the pin and latch plate, and adjust if necessary.

FWTW oil is cheaper than parts.

If it squeaks ? oil it
If it won't open and it should ? oil it
If it should slip/slide and it won't ? oil it
If it is rusting ? clean with wire brush and ??? you guessed it.... oil it
All of above does not apply to brakes.

Loosen the screws holding them and move them out slightly so as you don't have to close the doors so tightly to get the lock to latch.

You really should fix the bonnet catch urgently, a locked bonnet with a broken cable is a horrible thing to get open.

Yep, may also be worn hinge pins need replacing.
With the door open see how much movement there is in the hinges by lifting the door, also check for rust around them.
You read my mind. Hinge pins was my thoughts. I just wasn't sure if they were welded hinges.

on the bonnet you can try adjusting the cable, but I would recommend replacing it as they stretch, then snap. The need to push on whilst popping indicates that its already stretched.

new cables available ebay/rare spares
