Vn Engine Cuts Out

Hi all...

I find that when I start up in the morning the car idles a bit rough. After leaving it on for around 5 mins idling when I get ready to go to work as soon as I take off or even take a corner the engine cuts out.
Then it starts up with no problem without stalling again.

Has anyone had a problem like this before or is it that my car was made on a Friday.

P.S. I have already replaced the thermostat without result.

In one of the other posts it was his imoboliser (faulty), does your car have a imoboliser?

yeah i had an imobiliser problem . it sounds to me like it could be your throttle body could need a clean or there is a sensor i think that is in the throttle body that lets the motor know to rev up a bit when such things like the air conditioner is on or when you turn a corner and the power steering loads the motor up ! maybe this is playing up! this would be whats causing it to stall when ya turn corners the motor not uping the revs enough! maybe someone else on here knows the name of it!

Thanks for the response... My car doesn't have an imobiliser.
I'll clean out the throttle body and I''ll see how that goes.

what happens when you start the car from cold and drive off straight away does it stall or run ok

Hi fergi,

You got it right.... as soon as I start and drive off it stalls.

My car is a VN V6 1989.

fuel filter or fuel pump.
Could be the coils, module or computer as well. but check the top first as they are easier.
