Hey all,
I recently bought a level 2 instrument cluster from the wreckers and fit it into my vn. All the gauges work fine but im just wondering if the tacho could be reading incorrectly as when i put my foot down its changing from 1st gear to second at ~4500 rpm? im not sure if the cluster is from a v8 is there any way to tell? and is it unusual to get those reading?
Cheers for any help
Matt

The V8 cluster will have green on the tip of temp gauge threads. The tacho will be stamped with V8 on it if you pull the cluster apart.

On the back side of the cluster where the thread for the temp gauge is (has 2 brass nuts holding it in place) - the tip of the thread is painted green.

The VN tacho is know to be lazy at the best of times. Run a VR/VS tacho in it and it will be heaps smoother.
