Vn on 18s rubbing on lower shock support?

Hi guys I finally got some new rubber on my vy ss 18s today and whacked them on my vn straight away only to hear rubbing on the first trip out! Got it home and had a look and they seem to be rubbing on the lower shock support? Only the front is rubbing and its definately not the gaurds etc coz its rubbing all the time even with the wheels straight? Pretty sure thier run of the mill 235/40s! It is lowered but where im pretty sure its rubbing , lowered shouldnt be the issue!

lowered wont make a difference if its scrubbing on the strut under the spring. 235/4018s shouldnt scrub. what brand tyres are they?

Theyre some "full run" brand or something? Cheap crap id say? I bought a whole set of 18s just for the tyres to put on my vy ss rims!

I think its just scrubbing on the part where it fans out to support the spring?

Once I hit 50-60kph it starts getting fairly noisy!

im guessing that the tread is very square(doesnt curve off when it gets to the side wall. iv never had this issue with 18''s on my vp.
are the wheels different offset front to rear ?

Just checked again and thier definately 235/40s! Brand is full run! Model hp199! And its definately the inner sidewall rubbing on the strut just where the spring support starts to fan out from the strut itself!

Yeah its kinda sqaure! Not sure about offset on them as I only had 3 vy ss rims and recently aquired another 2 to finally put them on! I tried to push a piece of cardboard thru where its obviously rubbing with no success!

some wheels have different offsets for front and rear wheel due to having irs suspension in the back so the distance from the inside lip of the wheel to the back of the wheel hub can be differnt longer and shorter http://www.superforma.co.uk/catalog/view/theme/superforma/image/offset-explained.jpg
so maby you got ones ment for the rear on the front causin it to scrub

Cool mate thanks! Im gonna try one off the rear on the front in the morning as the 3 I had initially were on my vs stato, 2 being on the front! Cheers mate
