More fun with the VN at the moment, have been dailying it the last week and it had been running ok bar the occasional stalling issue on first start of the day.

However today driving down the road from my housethe whole engine cut out. It then proceeded to stall again idling at a set of lights and in a car park.
Now it seems to stall just sitting in park idling, Changed a few relays around and cleaned up contacts there to no avail.

I also pulled off the vacuum line on the Fuel pressure reg, and it seemed to run ok then, once I reconnected the hose it stalled almost instantly.
Spark seemed fine from what I tested so leaning towards faulty pump or FPR at this stage.

Any ideas?

"It then proceeded to stall again idling at a set of lights "- my 5 litre did this when it had a faulty IAC valve.

Brand new IAC installed a month ago so I would hope not.

I installed a brand new IAC from the ebay cheapies and the problem recurred. The replacement part looked the same, it just didn't work.

The problem only went permanently away when I installed a genuine Delphi component.

I used a Tridon brand.

Anyway I checked codes and got a code 21: Throttle pos sensor above 2.5 volts for 2 seconds when engine
speed below 1600 rpm

TPS is also new. about a month old, Which was a delphi one I believe

Most Delphi stuff is junk now. It's no longer OEM.

2.5v is half throttle, I would say that's your culprit. Your ECU won't know if it's Arthur or Martha then kill fuel and spark under IAC

I have also had a couple of dud Delphis over the years, that said, I suspect they were fakes

Why do you say that? I've had no problems with Delphi parts and a lot of problems with cheaper alternatives. Delphi is now part of BorgWarner Inc.
