Vn to vk 304 t700 gearbox

Hi all I am currently putting in a 304 VN 5l with a T 700 automatic gearbox into my VK just want to know what crossmember for the gearbox people are using I am not using tough mounts just bolted straight onto the Kframe
Also would like to know why the gearbox touches The body of the car any help would be much appreciated cheers

Castlemaine sell them for $195. There is no problem with clearance on either side. I know this because I have fitted one in the last two weeks.

Yeah on my vk 4l60e touched on drivers side of tunnel sort of near footrest,where transmission pan bolts to there is section that steps out...not uncommon to clearance with tapometer otherwise will be crooked when put slip yoke in.

Crossmember can buy aftermarket like dellows then have to drill holes or cam order tuff mounts,crs etc which have all the slots.

Identical to the Castlemaine crossmember less the gearbox mount. The Castlemaine ones are cheaper as well. As for their engine mounts, no thanks. I put them on my Vh only to take them off shortly after. I found them far to stiff plus being lower caused the extractors to rub on the left hand side.
