using the vs ecu i presume you will need to get the security turned off in the memcal to run it or run it on the old vn ecu setup is the easiest

Pretty sure you will need to put the BCM, ignition barrel etc. in as the VS PCM wont run without the matching BCM and key. What gearbox are you using?

first of hi everybody, im graeme

i have just dropped a vs ecotec into my vn. if any of you non ecotec people out there want to make a smart comment its not appreciated as it is far cheaper to swap a motor you already have for one that blew up

any way what i would like to know is i have the motor in, all the wiring in, ecu ect.............
the motor cranks over but wont fire.
you can hear the fuel pump so thats working.
none of my instruments are working so its reading out of fuel which i know it isnt.

now when i changed the loom the connecters at the end were the same bar 1, the black one, it is the one with the maf sensor and so forth.
i tapped into the pink with blue trace under the dash which is n12 fuse, the same as vs for the pink with blue trace on the loom.

now there is a solid pink which i conected to the purple wire which is on the old vn loom, but not on the vs is this right or should i conect it somwere else?

also when i tried to start it i havent got the exhuast on yet so the exhaust sensors wont be ready.

i am a heavy machanary machanic and i know when we are working on trucks if one thing isnt plugged in then she aint go, is this the same with cars? i dont know as i dont usualy work on them.

any help would be much appreciated as for it is my partners car and she wants it back on the road

    thanks,
    graeme

Maybe thats a bit better? I couldnt understand any of it?

My advice Graeme, is to grab the wiring diagrams for the VN & the VS & compare them for the wires you have, & those you have already spliced.
