I understand it should bolt straight on the lower cold air box half is the same as for VN to VS.

You will note to improve the cold air intake on the advice of my engine builder I drilled a 67mm dia hole on the lower air box bottom right.
Behind the headlight there is plenty of cold air drawn in without the need of cutting through the guard and using a snorkel thus removing the risk of sucking up water and cold air. I was advised against the mod in the pursuit of cold air to go through the guard for that reason.
