Took the trims off to check the clearance for new speakers. I ordered the sound system today. Should be here soon
    [IMG]

Also took the centre speaker out and it made a good difference for now

very nice ute mate, be good to see how you go with the sub box, im getting a new ve ute soon and plan on adding a couple 12" subs.

must say i highly rate those wheels on the wagon, they look very similar to the gto wheels i had on my old vz ute. what are they called and what sizes?

This is the first time i have ever done something like this. I have no real skills in building subwoofer box's
I used as much info i could find off the net for the right box size air volume for the subwoofers that i ordered
the wood is a little thin but will be ok

So after realising time was running out to get this installed after a nice 11 hour shift i came home and got straight into installing
I didnt get many photos of the install unfortunately because the mood i was in and the lack of sleep but will be many once its 100% finished. I decided not to sleep all friday night and spend half my night test fitting and making mistakes. Ran into many problems with getting new wires to the doors and clearence in the doors with wires getting caught in the window. Ended up getting the shits and ripping it all out and rewiring all doors
    [IMG]
As you can see the box is no where near done completed but it will do for now...
Here is the only wire compared to the new wire
You try get 3 of these suckers in the door boots plus the standard wiring
    [IMG]
Tweeters for the dash. All wiring in box not used all 12awg used
    [IMG]
And power and ground wire should be as solid as a rock
    [IMG]
My goal was not to break or cut or have to cosmetically modify and pannels so it would look as stock as possible
    [IMG]
When i get the time i will finish the box but for now its solid and working fine
    [IMG]

All the system is in and working. Still waiting on my AUDIOCONTROL LC2i but for now im using a cheap LOC.
I have had a couple of problems with getting a "Clear" signal and we all know all VE's are known for noisy lines and alternator whine. Also had a problem when starting the car some popping from all speakers but fixed that by finding a good remote turn on source for the amps
im hoping the LC2i will fix the noise problems i have cleaned the cables up now from last photo so power wire is away from all speaker wires and have orderd a RCA line filter just in case its not fixed
More photo's to come but its sure is LOUD.

Ute looks good and the system looks great. A lot of effort and it shows. How come you downgraded to this from the clubsport?

So i picked up a brand new tonneau cover off ebay for $70 not bad
    [IMG]
i have adjusting suspension so it looks like a boat at the moment. Hit some big holes in the road on my way home from work
    [IMG]

Arches are bent in a couple of places from the tyres and nearly removed the front mount. Bumper might need replacing so gives me a excuse to get 2012 chrome/SSV chrome parts for it

Hey mate, very interested in how you went with the door and tweeter install.

i have installed the Rockford power series splits in the rear doors, but have not attacked the front, purely because of the cross-over & running the tweeter.

by the look of your photos you managed to get them in the stock pods? any modifications at all? and which components did you go, the power or punch series?
and also did the tweeter fit in under the trim fine, or was there modifying to be done?

i really need to get around to doing my fronts, but after the headache the rears were, its put me off the fronts.

Good work man looks like it all fits nice and snug behind the seats, not bad for someone who's never done that sort of stuff before!

I did not cut anything it all fits fine
I used the supplyed door pods that came with the speakers then made my own spacer because it was hitting the window
The dash is super easy todo just put your cross overs in a good spot

Loving your install so far, it sucks VE's get alternator whine so easily which is what made me hold off installing my amp and sub for now. Keep up the good work keen on seeing the finished product

Alternator whine is 100% clear now.
LC2i had fixed it along with making my speakers and subs 110% better so much clearer !
Still have to tune it then clean up the box and wiring then it will be done then on the the next project
