vp 5ltr ute HELP!!!!!

IVE GOT a 1993 vp 5ltr ute and after driving about 15km the oil light come on and off at high speed ect 100km and if you slow down it doesn't come back on even if you drive around town it never comes on unless out in the open road
ive changed the oil sensor
oil changed it new filter
checked the relieve valve spring
please help if you have any suggestions
could it be the oil pump or pick up

Could be a hole in the oil pump pick up or suction screen. It's happening when the oil gets really hot- could be bearings or the oil pump itself.

yea gonna try replacing the oil pump for now only does it when its hot

A hole in the pick up...... Yea it just ******* melted a hole outta nowhere.....

To OP check oil and change filter.

Gasket in the flange to the block? Vibration on joints in the L shaped pipe from the block to the screen?

Maybe the oil you're using is too thin. I use Penrite HPR 30 in my VQ and several other older cars. It's 20W-60 so it holds its viscosity at higher temperatures.

Yea tried that mate tried thin and tried thick oil

The oil light comes on when the pressure drops to 6psi. If your engine only has 6psi at high speed something is wrong.

If your lucky it could be a joint in the wiring to the pressure switch that's going intermittent when it gets hot.
