all depends on mileage + other factors

Most probably blocked oil pickup.
Here’s what mine looked like ( before and after).
The oil pressure switch wire in the harness would have to short to gnd to make the light come on.

My issue that caused it is very unlikely for any one else to have it but it was cause by the wrong dash cluster in the ute must off been after market one didnt look like a vp one chucked a vp one and all worked good no more oil light what made me thing is that the cluster in the ute the oil light was coming up on the left side and I seen the vp are on the right side
And also realized it what I put my high beam on instead of the high beam light coming on it was the airbag light

Common problem these days. I have 5 level 3 clusters in the shed that are a mix of VN,VP,VQ and V6's and V8's. Spent yesterday marking the tacho's and temp gauges with green(V8) and blue (V6) textas to match the original factory markings-while I can remember what's what.
