you cannot remove the inspection plate it goes under the back of the motor, also my trans has three plugs two white ones and the speedo is the normal for a vp berlina, or has some one switched out the trans.
You really need a manual. It does come off but the rack needs to be unbolted. A manual will make it easier if you haven't removed a Commodore one before.

The small cover at the bottom of the trans, mine has four bigish bolts and then 5/6 small nuts that go under back of the sump. Googled every thing and asked everyone, do i have the only one like it in oz, when u undo all nuts bolts it cant drop out of the way cuz steering In the way ,also goes up where starter is so no way can undo tc bolts through that hole.

undo the 2 bolts that hold the rack to the kframe and push the rack out of the way the same as you would if you were changing the starter motor

Yep OP has been told this.

One reason why you cant the unbolt the TC could be due to motor seized up .
Had this issue afew times and simply took the TC with the engine makes quite a mess but is doable . .
