Ive got a problem with my central locking and security system on my VP Calais. The car locks fine with remote, indicators flash, security system arms, all doors lock, etc. But when it comes to unlocking the indicators flash, and the security system disarms, but the locks dont unlock??
What would be the cause of this?

ive got a vp calais but never run into that problem... maybe see if the drivers door lock knob is gettin hung up, or check the drivers door lock actuator. im pretty sure if you sit in the car you can manually pull up and press down on the driver door lock knob and all the locks will go up and down in unison, so that might be the problem.. that what im thinking off the top of my head anyway...

The security system and door locks etc, are all controlled by the BCM (Body Control Module) or (body computer) in the VP calais. Also its probably worth mentioning that some of the lower spec VP's didnt use a BCM to control the body systems, but instead used seperate specific modules to control the various body systems.
Anyway, Id be having a good look at the BCM and its associated wiring and connectors. The BCM is located under the dash on the drivers side, just in behind the fuses down under the steering wheel. You could also take the car to someone who has a scantool that can scan the BCM to check for errors.
Id also try resetting the BCM by removing the fuel pump fuse for 1 second. Make sure the ignition key is off first before removing the fuse. You can confirm that the BCM was reset properly, as once the fuel pump fuse is reinstalled the BCM will make a clicking sound, the interior light will come on, and lastly, the security indicator light near the radio will start to flash. If this occurs, the BCM has been successfully reset.
The fuel pump fuse is located in the other fuse box under the bonnet.

Nice tip for an easy reset. Saves mucking with the battery.

Is it the same on the VS's?

Sorry mate, I was actually referring more to just checking the BCM's wiring and the wiring connector plugs, not actually pulling the BCM apart and checking the circuit board, because if the board is stuffed for whatever reason, theres nothing you can really do to fix it, the complete BCM unit would just have to be replaced.
If the BCM's wiring and wiring connectors are all clean and tight etc, and theres no obvious breaks or bad connections in the wiring, then Id be chasing up another VP BCM to try that out to see what happens then..

With the VS's, it depends on which level BCM is fitted, its only the high or lux BCM's that can be reset. And yes, its reset the same way as the VR's,by removing the fuel pump fuse for 1 second. And you can also confirm that its been reset the same way too.
    Cheers.

i had this kinda problem on a different car,but it was a relay that had blown due to too much power or something, but if its the original maybe thats gone, and it could just be affecting that one part, its possible, might be worth checking
