    Hello,

The latch in my VP Calais that holds the Glovebox is broken and the Glovebox sags/falls off every time I open it.

    Here are some pictures:

Is there any way to fix this without replacing the whole dash etc?

    All help is greatly appreciated.

    Chris

Hell yeah. If you can't fix it with cable ties, it's probably not worth fixing.

It is on the later models, VR and VS but not on VN/VP :( .

There used to be a part available through Holden spare parts that reinforces/replaces the broken section. It was (is) a piece of steel angle which is screwed up into the downward sloping face of the dash with the other side (at 90 degrees) hard up against the piece of the dash the hinge pin goes into (between the glovebox and the piece the hinge pin goes into). The hinge pin then runs in a hole in the piece of steel.

I don't know if you can still buy that but I made one out of a piece of 25mm X 16mm X 1.6mm ??? (Not sure if that's exact mm) Aluminium angle bought from a hardware store.
