I have a VP ute, with the sh*t brown interior, I want to change the color of the dashboard to a more modern dark grey or black.

How would I go about removing the complete dashboard for painting & restoration? Would it be quicker if I bought another dash, fix it up at my leisure & then when ready just swap them out? Any suggestions?

Tape everything that you don't want paint on then paint it your own colour, save taking the dash out.

Like above or go to the wreckers and get another dash and paint it or get it recovered with a material that you like or st80 dash

I actually got a VN Statesman dashboard (No cluster hood) and I'll be dismantling the ute's inside, custom painting some pieces including the cluster hood and in no time the ute's cab will be like almost new. Pics will come soon.
