VP Rear Windscreen

Hi can you just remove the rubber only around the rear windscreen ?
Or do you have to remove the glass as well?
I have one small rust spot that is close to the rubber so want to repair it.

If it is anything like a VN, (the window is glued in) the rubber is a cosmetic finisher which can be peeled off, carefully, like a piece of spaghetti.
It may be a bit stuck in places first up. I used to regularly remove mine to clean the crud which accumulated under the rubber.

Remove rubber outer rubber moulding, you may need to replace it as it may tear or stretch.
They are glued in and u have to cut them out, they are not the push out one's.

I recently succeeded in removing the front rubber surround. It came out fairly easily but I had to do some fairly aggressive sealant/glue removal (using a hardwood tool I made up) to get the strip to fit back in place. Despite this the windscreen still seems to be watertight. I currently have the strip sitting in place but now easily removed for a roof paint job.
Thanks to the OP and the responders for posing this question cos I had been wondering whether or not I could do the same with the rear screen.

here is what lurks under the windscreen rubbers..left rear screen. visible rust was a 5mm hole until the screen was removed.

I'm always amazed how a small bubble of rust grows when you wire brush it and paint it with rust killer.
